Fagor Ederlan signs a technological collaboration agreement with the Japanese firm Aikin Takaoka
The technological agreement means the exchange of knowledge in the field of component development and manufacturing and focuses on products related with the chassis and vehicle safety -knuckles, brake discs and callipers- with which the Fagor Ederlan Group occupies leadership positions in the European market. The agreement will last for ten years and is an extension of a previous one, which confirms the interest of both parties in continuing to work together.
For the Fagor Ederlan companies, this alliance with a leader like Aisin Takaoka is a very significant milestone for carrying out its technological plan and achieving the objectives contemplated in the 2005-2008 Strategic Plan, which points to sales for the Group of 752 million euros by the end of the 4-year period, of which 76% will correspond to international sales.
On behalf of Aisin the agreement was signed by its Executive President Tsukasa Terada, its R&D Director Haruo Watanabe and its head of research Nobuyoshi Tanaka. For Fagor Ederlan Taldea it was signed by Juan Mª Palencia, CEO of Fagor Ederlan, accompanied by his collaborators Ángel Akizu, Edertek Technology Centre and Juan Antonio Rodriguez, Usurbil plant.
Fagor Ederlan Taldea/Fagor Ederlan Group anticipates a turnover of 550 million euros this year, of which 74% will be from international sales. The Group currently operates 13 production plants between its facilities in Eskoriatza and Mondragón; and the plants of its subsidiaries.
