Copreci expands into China
Copreci China, which is owned 100% by Copreci S. Coop., is the result of an investment of over 2 million euros and expects to achieve a turnover of more than 6 million euros. The plant covers a surface area of 5,000 m2 and will create over 100 new jobs.
It will manufacture components for both the Chinese market and new customers in Asia, taking advantage of its strategic position in order to make the most of the opportunities that will no doubt arise in this region, which is currently experiencing a period of intensive economic and consumer growth. The aim of the initiative is to transform the recurrent Chinese threat into an opportunity, by staying one step ahead of our eastern competitors in the new market which is just beginning to develop.
Copreci, which forms part of MCC’s Components Division, sells its products to a range of major domestic appliance manufacturers and estimates a turnover for this year of 150 million euros, of which more than 75% correspond to international sales. At a more qualitative level, we should also point out that Copreci has gained the Golden Q for Management Quality, after scoring over 500 points on the EFQM scale.
Its Strategic Plan is based on Internationalisation and Innovation, with ambitious targets being set in both areas. As regards Innovation, we should point out that 15% of the sales estimated by the Copreci Group for this year are expected to correspond to products developed over the last two years.
In relation to internationalisation, Copreci has implemented a major organisational change, opting for an organisational plan which enables it to provide a global response to its customers, wherever they may be; make the most of both the knowledge and opportunities offered by the Internationalisation process; and stay one step ahead of its competitors.
With this new plant, Copreci aims to become a global company present in five different strategic areas: Western Europe, with its plants in Aretxabaleta and Italy; Eastern Europe, with its plants in the Czech Republic and Turkey; North America, with its plant in Mexico; South America, with its plant in Brazil; and Asia, with the new plant in China.
