Fagor Automation to build a new plant for its feedback business
The expansion recorded over the last few years by Fagor Automation has led this Co-operative to include in its Strategic Plan 2001-2004 the construction of a new production plant in the town of Eskoriatza in the province of Gipuzkoa, close to its headquarters in Mondragón.
The plant will occupy a surface area of 10,000 m2 and will come into operation in September 2002. Fagor Automation will concentrate all its feedback business in these new facilities. The Mondragón and Usurbil plants will continue with the regulation and control activities, mainly Numerical Controls and DROs, and the motors activity, which means a surface area taken up by production totalling 21,000 m2.
The new plant, the design and co-ordination of which will be carried out by LKS Ingeniería, will also have a fully automated logistics warehouse to serve the three plants. Fagor Automation plans to achieve sales this year of close to 10,000 million pesetas, with international sales in excess of 65%. For 2004, it is forecast that sales will total 14,000 million pesetas, with a workforce of more than 700 people.
