MCC signs a collaboration agreement with MIT
Mondragon Corporación Cooperativa (MCC) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), channelled through the latter’s Industrial Liaison Program. The agreement was signed by MIT’s Director of Corporate Relations, Karl Foster and by the Director of MCC’s Technology and Quality Department, Javier Retegui.
The main aim of the agreement is to seek the support of MIT in the development of MCC’s Science and Technology Plan, the Garaia Innovation Project, and Mondragón Unibertsitatea’s Strategic Plan. Beforehand, the lines of research of the Corporation and the research services offered by MIT were identified, so that the collaboration could be more specific and fruitful.
The way the agreement will work is that MIT will assign an Industrial Liaison Officer (ILO) to MCC, who will be in charge of facilitating and recommending interactions to satisfy the objectives identified by MCC. This person will also update MCC on what is going on at MIT in the areas of interest to MCC and will introduce MCC to the cutting-edge technologies developed by MIT that could impact the Corporation’s businesses.
The agreement covers a wide range of activities and services, which will be co-ordinated by the ILO. These include:
.. Channelling to MCC emerging technology, accessing technology and management resources at MIT, with meetings organised with individual faculty members, research scientists and students of MIT. .. Organising of private seminars for MCC staff, with the possibility of using modern interactive systems and videoconferencing. .. Facilitating visits to MCC installations by MIT members, whose research work could be of interest. .. Making possible sponsored research at MIT or engaging MIT faculty members as consultants. .. Helping MCC to identify and pursue ways of engaging MIT students, either at MIT or in MCC companies, through research sponsorship for undergraduates or graduate students, internships or summer work at MCC companies. .. Identifying MIT programs that meet the educational and development needs of MCC companies. .. Facilitating reports, publications, prepared by MIT, etc.
