The ECENARRO co-operative joins MCC

The ECENARRO co-operative, located in Bergara, has joined Mondragón Corporación Cooperativa (MCC), after having had its application approved by the relevant MCC bodies and by the CHP Group of the Automotive Division, which it has joined in operational terms.

Ecenarro was set up as a company in 1943, becoming a co-operative in 1982 following a period of serious crisis during a phase of general economic recession. Its activity focuses on the stamping of iron and steel for the manufacture of screws, studs, swivel joints and special parts to drawings, destined almost entirely for companies in the automotive sector.

It had a turnover of 1,500 million pesetas in 2001, of which 65% corresponded to the domestic market and 35% to export, basically to France and Germany. Its main customers are the automobile companies Renault, Peugeot and Volkswagen-Seat, as well as suppliers of primary equipment for the automotive sector. Ecenarro currently has a staff of 64 persons and in the last four years has made a major effort as regards investment into modernizing its installations, with a global investment of 470 million pesetas.

Organizationally, Ecenarro forms part of the CHP Group in the Automotive Division, to which the following belong: Fagor Ederlan, FIT Automoción, V. Luzuriaga Tafalla, V. Luzuriaga Usurbil and Mapsa.
