The web service will be implemented for COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) patients at the Galdakao hospital, for diabetes patients in the Uribe Costa and Alaba primary care areas, and for patients with coagulation problems in three care homes, monitored by the Basurto Hosptal and the Bilbao primary care area. The contract was awarded in the month of August last.

Telemonitoring of chronic patients at home is one of the measures, among others, that the Basque Government’s Health Department has decided to implement to improve the quality of life of patients suffering these types of disease (COPD, heart failure, diabetes, etc…) and to improve the effectiveness of care in the health system.

By winning this contract, Saludnova will extend its customer portfolio which includes the University Hospital in Getafe, Igurco care homes and Osakidetza’s Bilbao primary care area, among others.

Saludnova is a young co-operative, part of the MONDRAGON Corporation, dedicated to technological development and the marketing of software to facilitate home telemonitoring.
