MONDRAGON at the “EFQM Forum Bilbao 2010”
The EFQM Forum 2010 will be held in Bilbao on 4, 5 and 6 October. This Forum is a point of reference in Europe as far as finding out about the most innovative management practices of the most advanced companies is concerned and is attended by hundreds of business leaders from all over the world.
At the 2010 Forum MONDRAGON will be playing a leading role as in addition to sponsoring the event –together with Fagor Electrodomésticos- it will be providing one of the speakers, Javier Sotil, Vice-president in charge of Innovation, Development and Knowledge.
During the Forum the EFQM Excellence Award will be presented, which recognises the most advanced European companies in terms of management and with the best results. The Gipuzkoa Ekialde area of Osakidetza (the Basque Health Service) and Olabide Ikastola (a Basque school) are finalists this year. In addition to these two institutions there are three finalists from the United Kingdom, three from Austria, two from Germany and three from the rest of Europe.
This year for the first time an award will be presented for the best “Good Practice in Innovation ". Four Basque organisations: Colegio Urkide Ikastetxea, Lauaxeta Ikastola, Hospital Galdakao Usansolo-Osakidetza and EGA Master, have been preselected by an international jury, together with another five from the rest of Europe. The public will vote to choose the six finalists from these nine practices. The finalists will then present their good practice to the Forum.
EUSKALIT is the local member of the EFQM in charge of organising this event in the Basque Country, the European region with the highest concentration of EFQM Excellence Awards (the countries with most awards are Spain with 31, of which 23 are in the Basque Country, United Kingdom with 28, followed by Germany with 26).
