MONDRAGON Corporation joins the “Metaposta” system
Today, 8 February, the contract has been signed at the headquarters of the Basque Government for three companies from MONDRAGON Corporation (
Caja Laboral,
Seguros Lagun Aro and
Eroski) to join the Metaposta system, a project promoted within the context of the “Basque Country in the Information Society Plan”.
Caja Laboral, Seguros Lagun Aro and Eroski will use Metaposta to send their customers documentation in relation to their respective banking, insurance and commercial retailing businesses.
What is Metaposta
It is a project included in the
Basque Country in the Information Society Plan 2010, a sort of “electronic safe and mailbox on the Internet” to store documents of personal interest, like bank receipts, bills or official notifications. Metaposta is an initiative inspired by similar projects already operating successfully in countries with more developed online services.
MONDRAGON has been one of the main driving forces from the start, working together with the Basque Government on the technological and business development of the project.
The co-operative group is encouraging Basque society, and especially ordinary people, to sign up to Metaposta in order to take advantage of its excellent features and, in this way, contribute to the progress of the information society and the Basque economy as a whole.
MONDRAGON is also encouraging industry and service sectors to develop applications for their sectors based on the Metaposta System, as it is convinced that such applications will lead to higher levels of competitiveness for our economy.
