Meeting to monitor collaboration agreement between Industry - MONDRAGON
During the work meeting, held at MONDRAGON’s corporate headquarters, there was a report on each of the agreement’s five areas of action: Information and Communication, Entrepreneurship, Business Development, Technology and Innovation, and Internationalisation. Delegations from the Government and the co-operative group took part, headed by Bernabé Unda, the Basque Government’s Minister of Industry, Innovation, Commerce and Tourism, and José Mª Aldecoa, President of MONDRAGON’s General Council.
These were the main subjects dealt with at the meeting:
- In the area of Information and Communication, there was monitoring of MONDRAGON’s performance, the Department’s economic-financial prospects and the development of the programmes planned by the Basque Government as far as the Competitiveness Plan and the Science and Technology Plan are concerned.
- In the area of Entrepreneurship, there was analysis of the mutual collaboration on the process of implementing MONDRAGON’s Innovation, Promotion and Knowledge System and on the materialisation of projects led by the Corporate Development Centre and by the Divisional Centres. Saiolan’s contribution to the Local Competitiveness Hubs was stressed and it was agreed to maintain Saiolan’s structural Funding Agreement.
- In the area of Business Development, a look was taken at the main strategic projects they were working together on, among them the "Citycar-Range Extender" and the Orona IDeO Innovation Park. The Range Extender is an innovative proposal for an ecological engine that enables a vehicle’s electric battery to be charged whilst it is in operation, thereby extending its range. The first prototype has already been presented and demanding tests are now being carried out aimed at mass production of the product. New investment projects were also analysed for the future together with new joint financial solutions for this type of strategic projects.
- In the area of Technology and Innovation, the commitment to lead 5 Etorgai projects in 2011 was set out, together with MONDRAGON’S commitment to actively participate in the development of the Basque Government’s 2015 Science, Technology and Innovation Plan. It was also agreed to boost the Corporation’s presence in the VII European Framework programme, with participation in 63 projects, leading 16 of them.
- In the area of Internationalisation, there was positive assessment of the collaboration for the deployment of MONDRAGON’s international network and co-ordination between projects for setting up abroad and the Department’s support programmes.
