Fagor opens shops selling kitchen units in China
The first of the shops, located in Qingdao and already up and running, has several Fagor Mueble models and is part of a large shopping centre, where the presence of the Fagor brand is highly visible.
For its part, the store located in the city of Ningbo and opened recently, is also to be found in a shopping centre, but in this case, in one specialising in kitchens.
China is a good opportunity to introduce a European brand like Fagor in the furniture sector, bearing in mind that the company already has three production plants in the country. On the other hand, the construction market is currently very active in China and the company also plans to break into this sector in the near future.
Fagor’s goal for 2009 is to have 6 or 7 sales points in China, which means being present in a market with a lot of possibilities for growth. A new store is currently being planned in Wuxi, (occupying more than 300 m2) located in a shopping centre that is currently under construction. The opening of two more sales points are also planned for the cities of Shanghai and Beijing.
According to Leire Aguirrebeña, Export Manager at Fagor Mueble: “Fagor is a European brand that clearly stands out for innovative, quality kitchens, which is doing very well in the Chinese market. We therefore have very ambitious plans for growth in the short and medium terms in this market”.
