Eroski supports the primary sector through measures for increasing the sales of regional products
This campaign will enable EROSKI customers to purchase regional products, identified by a sign that includes the slogan “Sabores de Nuestra Tierra” (Flavours of Our Land), referring to their origin, quality and taste.
This campaign is just one of the measures that EROSKI is promoting to increase the sale of local products. As a socially responsible company, EROSKI has always been committed to the integrated and sustainable development of the environment in which it operates and interacts, and considers that it should pay special attention to local suppliers and further mutual development.
Through this dedicated campaign that has been rolled out in EROSKI establishments, regional products are more readily visible than when they are on the shelves. Furthermore, the policies that EROSKI promotes in its dealings with its suppliers ensure that these products have a permanent place in the EROSKI network and thereby increase their retail options. These campaigns are extremely popular amongst customers, who especially like regional products – often identified by quality certificates or a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) - whereby EROSKI does everything it can to make them available.
Amongst those measures that EROSKI already applies in certain regions in favour of local suppliers, there are such highlights as the constant presence of regional products in its shops; the simplification of the accounting procedures for suppliers (only a single invoice needs to be issued, with the subsequent saving in time spent on office work, which becomes more efficient and streamlined) and the logistics facilities for suppliers, who can deliver their products to EROSKI platforms and so avoid having to supply by areas or shops.
The EROSKI network currently has 2,441 establishments and is made up of 114 EROSKI hypermarkets, 1,029 EROSKI/center, Caprabo and EROSKI/city supermarkets, 274 EROSKI travel agencies, 53 petrol stations, 44 Forum Sport shops, 300 IF perfume shops, 4 Abac leisure and culture shops and 27 platforms. This network is supplemented by 567 franchised supermarkets. In France, EROSKI has 4 hypermarkets, 16 supermarkets and 17 petrol stations. Andorra has 4 IF perfume shops.
