Eroski to open three new stores in Zaragoza, A Coruña and Lorca, with more than 5,000 workers

Eroski open new stores in ZaragozaThe two shopping centres, Plaza Imperial in Zaragoza and Parque Almenara in Lorca (Murcia), together with the hypermarket in A Coruña, which is to open shortly, join those already opened in Ondara (Alicante), Aguilas (Murcia), Portugalete (Vizcaya) and Carabanchel (Madrid), thereby completing the scheduled openings of big stores for this year.

 

EROSKI, a multi-format retailer, operates a sustained commercial development strategy, with the promotion of big stores and neighbourhood supermarkets. In addition to the growth in these food stores, the company is also strengthening its project with other business activities linked to travel, leisure and sport, perfume and culture.

Overall it has more than 50,000 workers, who stand out for their participation in the ownership, results and management of the company.

The Plaza Imperial Shopping Centre in Zaragoza, co-promoted with Duprocom, will be the biggest Shopping and Leisure Centre in the Aragón region, with a sales area of more than 128,000 m2. There are 150 outlets planned for its two kilometres of sales space. A total of 4,000 outside parking spaces will be available free to customers. The Eroski hypermarket will be one of the driving forces with a store bigger than 10,000 m2.

For its part, the Almenara Shopping Centre in Lorca (Murcia) will occupy a surface area of 111,320 m2, with an area of medium-sized stores taking up almost 37,000 m2 and a car park for 3.000 vehicles. It is a promotion exclusive to the Eroski Group. In total it will house 160 outlets together with an EROSKI hypermarket with a sales area in excess of 8,000 m2.

In A Coruña EROSKI will open an 8,000 m2 hypermarket in the new Dolce Vita Shopping Centre, developed by the Chamartín Group. This centre will have a commercial area with more than 180 shops, a gymnasium and catering outlets. In total the sales area will occupy 62,000 m2. Close to 2,300 parking spaces will be available to the new centre’s customers.

The Eroski chain of stores accounts for 2,441 outlets consisting of 114 Eroski hypermarkets, 1,029 Eroski/center, Caprabo and Eroski/city supermarkets, 274 Eroski/viajes travel agency branches, 53 petrol stations, 44 Forum Sport stores, 300 If perfume stores, 4 Abac leisure and culture outlets and 27 depots. In addition to this there are 567 franchise outlets. EROSKI also operates 4 hypermarkets, 16 supermarkets and 17 petrol stations in France and 4 If perfume stores in Andorra.
