Project coordination in Mozambique

The Mozambique Program started its activities in 2002 and is implemented in a completely rural context. Its main productive activity is in small-scale agriculture, particularly in the Lichinga - Pemba corridor, which is its main intervention area. The objective of the program is to support the productive-commercial development of family agriculture by providing technical assistance and facilitating the purchase of inputs as well as the sale of production. In the last six years, the number of farmers who have joined the program has increased significantly, reaching a substantial size (more than 15,000 people assisted annually with a combined production of approximately two million euros/year). The coordinating person will be responsible for leading several field teams that, in collaboration with associations and distributors, will help farming families increase and diversify their agricultural production.

With the following functions and responsibilities:

• Manage field teams.
• Promote capacity building among field teams and local partners in their area of work.
• Manage collaboration with other organizations such as farmers' associations, traders, and others. Administer the resources, materials, and supplies of the program and the field team.
• Coordinate institutional relations with local organizations.
• Manage the collection of productive data and report writing. 

Be part of a team mainly composed of cooperators and local field teams.

Requirements

Higher education.

Work experience in Mozambique or Africa will be valued.

Work experience in team management will be valued.

Work experience in agricultural projects will be valued.

Languages: preference will be given to individuals with a good command of Portuguese.
